All right. Welcome back, y'all. We were here to talk about week two, the craziness, things that surprised us, our way too early MVP picks and games that we're excited for next week.

Young QB Injuries Change Everything

So, one of my big surprises that I have is all these injuries to young quarterbacks, man, like Caleb, Daniels, and Dark going down. And like Caleb, you know, it's week to week, but Jaden Daniels, I'm starting to get concerned. You know, as we are young enough to remember the greatest of Robert Griffin III, the short-lived greatest of Robert Griffin III. And all of Jaden's injuries, especially his arms, I don't know what's happening with that, but uh something has to get figured out because the commanders have now had two straight injury click seasons where you have to rely on Marcus Mariona. Then with Jackson Dart, I love how everybody's like, oh, well, maybe this will be a turning point for mind you. I love how this isn't the Jackson Dart play where he decides to run into a you know 300-pound defensive lineman. It's literally them running into him as he's trying to throw the ball and make a safe play. And I just, man, I just hope that he returns and has a good season because everybody was like, oh, can the Giants make a move? Now the Giants and Commanders kind of look like, you know, it's about to be purgatory over there. And then the Bears, I mean, you see how good that division is. How long can you sustain yourself without Caleb being on the field? So it it could get really interesting. So all these injuries to young quarterbacks is one of my biggest surprises and seeing how that's affecting the landscape of the league. What about you?

My biggest thing before I get into my surprise with Jaden Daniels, especially, they didn't even have to run a play, they could have just kicked the field goal. They could have. Like I I remember sitting there before the play snapped the ball, and I'm like, Why? You could just kick the field goal. And also they're like the play happens, you know, you don't see it. Of course, they flip back. Jaden Daniels is down. And all I can think of myself was, you didn't even have you could have just kicked it. You could have just kicked it. Then they're like, he's probably gonna be out for the season. I'm like, you could have just kicked it. You know, the Jackson Dart one also, that's maybe like what really caught me off guard. Because as quickly as I was like, Man, I mean, you hurt me a couple weeks ago on here. Why are we even trusting the Giants? And the Giants come out and beat up the Cowboys in a way that was like, uh-oh. And just as quickly as you went from, oh, this could be something, I'm back to like, well, I was a week off of me, like, we don't gotta trust them because yeah, I'm like, they're they're back to square one now and back to where I thought they were gonna be from the jump.

Ravens Upset And NFC East Mess

But I think the biggest surprise for me had to be the Ravens losing to the Saints. That was something that I did not see coming. And honestly, I will say I'm not gonna be part of the freak out train of like, oh, Lamar always does this and there, uh, here we go again. At the end of the day, this is a new coaching staff. I also like as someone who's from New England and seen the Patriots all those years, a good loss early really does something to you. As someone who watched the Patriots for most of my middle school years, go, you know, two and two to start the season and run off to go win a Super Bowl. I'm kind of like, you know what? Good. You got hit on the chin. We've learned some things. Because the biggest thing is when you're up, at least this time, it wasn't like we're purposely not running the ball. It was like we got bad penalties to put us in terrible situations where we cannot run the ball. But now we learned, hey, if we don't fall start and hold, we can give Derrick Carey the ball and we have a lead and probably win a game. So I'm like, you have to learn somehow, I guess. So we'd rather get it done now in week two and have it sting because it's your home jerk, your home debut in the new jerseys, than do it in the middle of the the playoffs. So you know what? I was like shocking, but cool. And then to that same, even though they won, Tennessee being in that game with Philly, it was not my bingo card.

Like, yeah. And the way that Tennessee was running the ball, first off, the Eagles' offensive line, that's a dog. Like, I don't know what's happening with that because that used to be the strength of their team. Now that's letting the team down. But Jalen hurts, like, hey, hey, he was Smitty or buddy down the line. And then if you notice on the plate of Darius Cooper, Smitty falls down right as he's trying to run his route. And I audibly scream, oh no, they're gonna lose. And then Darius Cooper has that amazing toe tap, and I'm like, oh, okay, there you go, Jalen. So, like, I just I don't know, man. Like, the Eagles and Cowboys look like they're in two, even though they both have deficiencies, somebody's gotta win that division. And that's where we're at.

That's literally where we're at in a way that I was kind of like, I'm a little shocked about. Where it's like, you know, now the Giants and Commanders both kind of lost their QB, seemed like they're gonna just be kind of where do we go? Granted, Jay, of the better situations, I trust James Winston more than Marcus Mariota. Yeah, by a hair, but still I trust him a little more. I'm like, all right, but still, I'm just like, yeah, it's really one of y'all, like some of y'all, one of y'all gotta win it. But the way Philly's looking so far, a bit iffy. I still feel like all the Jalen Hurts is like on the hot seat takes in the beginning of the season are still abysmal and full of uh full of mess.

But a Super Bowl, a perennial like Pro Bowler, and then like Super Bowl MVP. Yeah, no. So stop who like literally the game plan was like, hey, beat us, Jalen. We'll stop Saquon. Jalen was like, okay, bet. And then he didn't.

Beat the MVP. Stop history. Like, I feel like he's not on no hot seat, you know, hot take. But still, they have looked, they've looked pretty sketchy to start the season. Also, Tampa Bay, I don't know what's going on there. I don't know what's going on there. I I'm I've been saying uh I understand what Deshaun Watson has done off the field. I understand how you feel, but I will keep telling people for every game that man wins, he will keep his job an extra week. I said they're gonna give him, I said, I think they're giving him four weeks. And for every win he gets, he extends his job by a week.

I agree. And I also think that me and my friend have also talked about how Todd Bulls is again outcoached by a well, everybody now you named Kevin Stefansky in this division. Um, anyway, when it comes to the Bucks, it's always been a coaching issue. So there the tweet of the week said the Bucs had two hours to prepare for a two-minute drill and still couldn't win. No, like that I think encapsulates the Tabor Bay Buccaneers because you don't have a coaching stance to stop a brown. You don't you don't have a plan to stop one of the worst quarterbacks in the league with one of the worst like offensive roster setups in the league, right? You don't have a plan to stop that when you have all this talent on your team. Yeah, a team that no longer has Miles Garrett on that defense, and you're telling me that Baker couldn't cook versus that like I just you know like it felt like a game that's like you should clearly go win and then didn't.

All of us were afraid of the whole like Brady arc where he like you know tears his ATL and then goes on the second run. And now it's like, oh no, but this is like an actual quick part of the second run.

Like he they're not even paying Kenneth Walker that much. That's what's crazy. Kenneth Walker has outplayed Jameer Gibbs and B.J. Robinson is getting paid like 10 mil less than them.

At the end of the day, it's gonna be this this is this is a QV award and this is Josh Allen's right now. We're going off just pure numbers, and I admit, I am not the biggest Josh Allen guy. He kind of drives me a little insane because I swear, James Cook gets all the way down that field running and he punches it in and it drives me insane. At the same time, this dude is literally putting up like video game numbers. Like he it's just it's just the truth. Like you hate it, love it, don't love it. He's her he's doing the thing. Kind of like you said, for all as someone who's not a big John Allen guy, for all those people that are like, yo, Josh Allen's one of the best quarterbacks over that, like he's doing the thing right now. That first half versus Detroit was literally insane. It was like we it was just like they no one could do anything. I mean, and then my thing is not even this week, too, last week, because mind you, the Texans defense was supposed to be one of those big, formidable defenses. It was Lemon Seattle, they said.
