Like there's getting done something. Okay, welcome back to another episode of King Points. We have a lot of topics to cover today. We're gonna talk about the Spurs, we're gonna talk about the Pistons, we're gonna talk about the LA Lakers, and then we're also gonna talk some NFL because there's been a lot of trades and people signing and a lot of crazy things.

0:49 So let's first jump in with the Spurs right now. They're on fire. What's going on? Listen, um, Wemby is coming into his own one, Stefan Castle turning into one of the better guards, Dylan Harper having a phenomenal season as well. I'll just for the people who stayed down with San Antonio during the taking, during their like roughs, rough period, I'm happy for that man because they have a squad, and to me, I do think that they can make it out of the West. I do think though, Wemby is going to have to have some series because you're either gonna have to deal with Jokic, you're gonna have to deal with some combination of Anthony Edwards and the Wolves, Jokic and the Nuggets, or the Thunder somewhere during the playoffs.

1:37 So that's my concerning thing is are their young guards gonna be too young for the moment? Because yes, Wemby's gonna be Wemby. I I at this point, I'm stole. I think we're going to see we're gonna see something special from him. And I've been I've been waiting to see this ever since he got he came into the league. I was like, I need to see playoff Wemby. I'm gonna see what happens, I'm gonna see how they guard him, what they try to throw at him. Because honestly, with everybody being like, at what what can you do at this point, especially the Rockets game, was there was just a moment of like it felt like the Rockets were powerless, and you had a team with Kevin Durant and the rest and all that talent, it they shouldn't feel like that. So I don't know.

2:17 I'm very excited about the Spurs. I I know that they were your championship pick, Derek. I just I uh that was Diego's man. Yeah, man. So I'm rocking with Diego. Diego having that pick, but I'm not gonna lie. Uh I still got OKC, you know. I still got OKC. I think it's close. I think they're gonna make a deep run. If they get to the I wouldn't be surprised if they ran it to the conference finals, but OKC, just because of the experience that oh my goodness, Shay, yeah, Shay's Shay's on a different level right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I still have, I still have OKC. Like, I need my hat. I had the OK shoot OKC shirt on earlier today.

3:01 Uh still got my championship hat, still celebrating from the championship. And uh, yeah, man. I mean, the Spurs, you know, they're doing well now, just like the Pistons were doing great uh a few weeks ago. Yeah now, you know, seeing red, like you said, we'll talk about that next segment. Can't wait to talk to Mike Sims, the Detroit apologist, about the fade that's going on there. But, you know, Spurs are doing well this regular season. They're finally playing hard for a whole regular season, not low managing and doing all the stuff that Greg Popovich had them doing. So I I I think a lot of their um they could, I feel they could have been doing a lot of this the last two years.

3:45 Um, and the fact that they've got a new upstart coach that's actually trying to win uh has a lot to do with this. But I don't know, man. I mean, Wimby. So let me let me just tell you because I think a lot of people are it's gonna sound crazy. Nah, I'm not trying to have a hot take. You know me. I'm not trying to have a hot take. All right, but I think people are kind of overrating a little bit what Wimby's doing this regular season. I agree with that. I agree because I've I've seen him play and I'm like yeah, it and again, can he does he have the potential to be a be the GOAT? Yes, I absolutely. I mean 7-5, yes, but the skills he has, yes.

4:27 But what do you think? Just we don't look at anything. How many points do you think he's averaging a game? I know he's average. I know he's averaging just like 25, like 24, 25. Like 24 and 11. 23.9, 23. 23.9. He is 18th in points right now. I never would have thought that. Yeah, you know what I mean? I never would have thought that now, but okay, uh, points. Oh, but he's a he's a great, you know, they have like that because he is the blocks leader, unquestioned. There, he's had six blocks in certain games, he's averaging, I believe, three blocks a game.

5:10 Yeah, he's averaging my five number, not for points. He's averaging exactly three blocks a game, yeah. But but this was the other stat that really tripped me out. Hold on, I just saw it. Okay, where do you think now? This is Victor Wimbin freaking Yana, right? 7'5 at least. Where do you think he ranks in rebounds? And how many rebounds do you think he's getting a game? I would say don't wait it because I'm asking you. Just what what what would you have just said? I would have said 10. 10 or 11. 10 or 11. 10 or 11. So yeah, he's averaging 11.1, 11.1, but that ranks, yeah.

5:55 That's fifth in the NBA in rebounds. Okay, so Joker's number one, 12.5, Carl Anthony Towns, 11.9, D Klingan, a dude from Portland, 11.5, um, Gobert, 11.4, and then Wimbiana is fifth, 11.1. Okay, but to be sure, Jokic, that's literally like his true. He's under the basket more, Wimby's out, sometimes on the perimeter and whatnot. True. But, dude, okay, if you're somebody that we're all saying is it next person supposed to take over the league, I'm gonna need more than 23.9 and 11.1.

We're gonna we we need to see Shaq first championship numbers in order for them to win the championship. Now, is he capable of that? Hey, he's got the physical tools, yeah. But when do you see somebody's numbers? You have some people's numbers who goes up in the playoffs. Jordan's numbers went up. I think Shay's actually goes up like a lot of the top players, their numbers go up. But that's a big jump to go from 23.9 to where I think he's gonna have to be in order for them to win the title. That's what concerns me. Can he put up a lot more numbers in order for them to do it?

7:20 Yeah, he has some room to grow for sure. But I mean, he's already changed like their franchise this, and he's like branding to new. So he has a lot more to work on. Yeah, we're gonna see come playoff time, y'all. Let's I listen, I want the legend of playoff one beat to start because I listen, that's it's where you it's where you make your money. It's where you know, it's where because again, Jimmy Butler's been living off of two finals runs for for forever. So, you know, a good minute. So I do think that like, I mean, even Rayon Ronda like lived off of like his playoff moniker. So I think that like come playoff time, I've seen how hard he's playing. Again, I saw you see the passion of him like coming when they came back from down 25 versus the Clippers.

Now, again, in the West, you need you to average 32 because you got because you got either Shea and or Jokic over there. Like, that's uh that's a tall task. You got Ant-Man, forget about him. So it's just the Suns, they're hurt, you know. Dylan Brooks is hurt, Jordan Goodwin. They have a lot of people that are hurt, but Dylan Green, he stepped it up, he's been stepping it up. And Grayson Allen was hurt. Just I'm like, what is going on? So it's a very the West is very tough. I feel like every year. The Lakers got worried. Just kidding. I saw them play and I was like, yeah, I know, I know. We'll get to that later, Brevus, but there are but the the seedings are gonna be very important because I think everybody has a kryptonite in the playoffs, you know.

9:36 Yeah, like the Sunset the Nuggets, right? Right. I need us to play the Rockets like I need oxygen in my lungs. I just I I that's the only team, the only team I think we can be in the West. I like the Celtics are of course very scary, you know, but the Knicks matchup is interesting. If they were to match up, that'll be interesting. So there's there's different matchups that are gonna, you know, kind of determine it. So we'll have to see how all that checks out before the uh playoffs start. Yeah, I'm just excited for it. And March Madness. Yeah, yeah, March Madness is gonna be sick.

10:16 Now we can move to the east and talk about the pistons. Yeah, man. Um cade's carrying him out all he can at this point. I don't know. I don't know. Because now that the Celtics are fully back healthy, that's that's really my concern. Because JT, JT, you know, swinging back, looking like still he's still getting his C legs under him because he was missing the first couple shots, but then as the game went on, you saw him become more comfortable. So I'm excited to see what that looks like. But Cade Kade can't do it all. And with the Sar being out, now you lose your best defender. It's I don't know how it's gonna look come playoff time because in some moments it's like okay, they have great shooting nights, and then Cade's special, or it's like Cade has to be special, or we're gonna lose, and then Cade just has to empty the clip, and it's just not gonna go well.

11:11 So I'm I'm hoping I don't know. I would say that like the thought of them representing the East in the finals, I think that thought is slowly fading. Because again, the Celtics, it's it's the playoff experience. And even if JT is a real player, Jalen Brown's still, you know, gonna do his thing. You still have Azulan who's been there and done that. So that's why I'm like, I do think that the Pistons, and even with the matchups too, because let's say that if the Hornets somehow make it out, and you know, they're the AC of the Detroit Silver One scene. I that their fight and that whole like rivalry between them.

11:52 I don't know if some emotions can get ahead of people, some objections can happen. We don't know what could happen in that series. That's a series I am very worried about. So I would say, yeah, I don't know. I don't know anymore about the Pistons, man. I'm at this point because I know what the Celtics are, I would just say the Celtics, the Celtics are the only team that I think outside of the Spurs, if Webby has like a shag series, I think the Celtics are the only team that could probably beat the Thunder just because of their experience, because of the whole being there and doing that. You feel me? You feel me? That's I feel like the Thunder. Everybody else is like, ah, you know, yeah.

Minnesota's a wild card for everybody. Uh, because they match they'll match up with the Spurs. Because they got freaking Gobert, who's however tall he is. You've got um the other center coming off the bench, you know, Nas Reed. Yeah, Nas Reed, you got Julius Randle, they got defense, like they got a lot of pieces. So I don't think I I don't think um I don't think the Spurs can beat Minnesota in the series my myself. I I think that's a bad matchup. Um, so yeah, yeah, it's definitely all about matchups there.

13:15 But um, yeah, Detroit, I wasn't when they were hot on their streak. Again, I I was loving what I was seeing, but I'm like, hey, unless they're gonna go into Puerto Rico and get Malik Beasley, like, hey, I'm not like it's not, I just don't see it. They don't have enough scoring, enough shooting, uh, enough offense outside of Cade. He can't, he can't carry them. You get into that slowdown playoff grind, like, nah, he's not he's not gonna be able to do the same thing. Everybody's playing hard in the playoffs. So I think some of their you know wins at least early on was from them just grinding and playing hard.

13:56 So um reminds me a lot of you know Thibodeau teams that would have these great regular season records just because they're never taking a night off. So you know that's a lot of what I what I see there. But nah, they gotta they need to add another piece at least. Um the only two teams that I see they can come out of the east are Boston, who is who I would pick at this point, or the Sixers. I wouldn't sleep on the Sixers. Sixers get healthy. That's the only other team I think they could do it. You got Embiid who's sitting out, you got Maxie, you got um, you know, all the other other guys.

14:37 I I know that they have good young players, but it's just MBU being healthy is always the thing. Like it's always going to it's always gonna be the elephant in the room every single time. And it's the it's so frustrating. Because it's like big walk. Yeah, it's I don't know. Well, his knees he can't play a whole regular season right now. So I mean, they're they're kind of doing with him what the Clippers are trying to do with Kawhi a few years ago, and just pretty much saving for the playoffs. They're playing them in spurts, just trying to have him healthy enough for the playoff run. I believe that's just their strategy, and hoping that he then just you know doesn't get hurt where he's out for the playoffs.

15:18 So I think that's what they're trying to do. But they've got enough. That's that the that's the wild card team. Uh I feel there. I think they got enough talent to to surprise people. So yeah, but pistons, no. I don't I don't see it with the pistons. No. Yeah, I agree with that. I mean, I like the Pistons, obviously, but I don't know. I feel like the East is obviously more stacked than the West, in my opinion, too. So if they're trying to beat other people, then I think they're gonna get beat out from like the Sixers, maybe even the Knicks, but I don't know about the Knicks, they're not very consistent. So I hate to say it, but you know, we're not very consistent.

Yeah, just well, back to the West. Is the Lakers better without LeBron? Listen, I've said I needed this man off of my team.

Yeah, we'll both took 10 years for us to win it in between, and that was because we were bad, we were bad.

Whatever, what most people would say you have three, at least three, two top 15 players, one maybe top 30, top 25, depending on you as player. And again, it's because we can't sign defenders because you're taking up 50 million dollars, and then on the other hand, is you're old, you're not the same version of yourself, and you can't defend. I love you. You know, you're my favorite player. It's time, it's time to wrap it up. Like, it's and this is for cash face reasons, it's not because I don't want to keep seeing you play basketball, it's simply because we need to afford defenders.

18:06 Because the reason the way that Luke and Kyrie made were able to make the finals was because Luke and Kyrie they hooped, but they had a PJ Washington, they had a Daniel Cafford, they had all these players that could defend, they had Derek Libre, they had a great center that actually put it after. I'm not even gonna talk about DeAndre Aiden. That's gonna get me even more bad. Like, yeah, Brady, I now know, I now don't am experiencing what you experienced. I don't know why we were having beside him. I have no idea. I should have listened to you. I yeah, you told me that. I I like mind-boggling. Like, we are too good of a team. We're too no, we're too much of a national, we're too much of a national franchise, and we're still like a five, six seed in the West.

That's obviously better because we have an aging superstar who we can't and we can't fight anybody else because of how much money he's commanding. I love it again. I need him off of my team. I need him off my team. Well, man, you know who would be the perfect fit for the Lakers, like to like take LeBron out and put this player in. Bree's guy, Dylan Brooks. Yeah, he would be, he would be the perfect fit.

If you want to do a pharewell season, you might not have to do it in Lane, but it back in Cleveland, go back home, you know, do a little fair road tour back at the crib. Do something. I just need you to figure out how to get us more money so we can surround Luca with more pieces. Because this needs to be Luca and Austin Reeves tape.

You can't see you're at the butt, you can't be in the middle. So, and especially as the Lakers, I'm tired of being in the middle. That's worse than when we were trash because it's like, bro, it looked we got the pieces, but we just don't have uh, it's it's it's interesting.

I feel like that's just such a waste for other teams so I don't think Phoenix would do that. They've been making smart moves I don't know but I get it like it's LeBron they're gonna bring in a lot of money with LeBron but it's going less yeah yeah I don't know I think he needs to just leave he just gets to pick and choose when he wants to play he never plays against good teams he sits those out but then but then but hold on but then Brie if he comes to fit then you can get the LeBron interview and and and then we have to buy all the best stuff we said I don't want to interview him right now in my career I need to I need to mature a little bit more than don't get me wrong he's a great player of course I just think he needs to retire and he's he's a big baby on the court I don't like that that's like that's not how the game should be played he invented flopping pretty much I mean I know it was like a saying back then but everyone does it every single time and it's really annoying to see over it he created that and that's why I just cannot stand him oh my god I cannot I cannot so I guess we we we will not be getting to LeBron and we have all right it's been great love you got to say you know I'm gonna take some of your old clips Chris and we're gonna put that out that's what we got I got have the propaganda machine behind it.

24:10 Don't LeBron ignore this episode specifically for the Lakers stuff bro I promise I got you I got you later bro but like you know what I'll say this he is the greatest player of our generation okay but and overall it's Michael Jordan in my opinion and it's Loki kind of fact based a little bit okay but I'm I it's not that I don't think he's a great player he's an outstanding player he's one of the best of all time but he's he's he needs to retire it's not fair to his teammates Luca I when they played the Suns I was at that game it's Luca's team and it's so clear that it is but he had 41 points that night and they still lost you know 41 points that's his team that's why they got Luca in the first place because he LeBron's retiring and leaving the team they needed someone younger who has an amazing player to replace him that's Luca's team whether LeBron's still on it or not it's it's Luca's team since he got treated there.

25:09 Yeah yeah and I like Luca you know I'll I'll interview him yeah I'm good with Luke interview I'm good with Luca interview yeah no doubt I'll make it up all right a little Slovenians pull it up a little Slovenians pull it up all right so no no leBron no KD interview I like Kevin Durant I love Kevin Durant I just didn't like him on the suns it was just in general it just the whole situation was terrible okay he's I love Kevin Durant since I was a little girl okay all right for a while you know okay all right trust sorry now the playoffs all right let's see the team that I think could be this year's pacers Bree you're gonna like this if you guys are fully healthy or Dylan Brooks I don't know I don't know I'm not saying all the way to the finals but I'm saying they get a good matchup especially with Book and Dylan Brooks I can see a surprising run I can see something surprising I would say honest I'm not gonna say the Hornets because I'm I'm I'm too scared to hedge my bets on anytime a Charlotte a team in North Carolina is doing very well hedging your bets you know we're gonna get to my you know the Panthers later but right now hedging my bets on the team from North Carolina I am very worried y'all so I'm like hey yeah I like what I see I need to see more I've been scoring before um listen the last time we saw they were getting packed out by Miami in the playoffs so that's uh yeah and I just watched them play against Phoenix I was there and I that's right there's something's off with that team right now I feel like like they weren't very on defense as much as they should have been yeah they had a really good streak good run a good 20 game run and I think they're kind of you know yeah it's like the Spurs they had their what was it 14 games or 11 and the next no more right so that's just what happens with those teams and then they're burnt out because they played so hard for all that time yeah that's what happens that's why the teams that you don't expect come on up true yeah I think the the the Suns can make can make some noise uh they'll they'll be a tough out for sure so I'm excited to see them um again but it's hard for me to call them a dark horse just because of the names that they have but I'd say the Sixers are probably the most likely team that could like get to the finals like the Pacers did as far as the team that didn't make the playoffs last year and you know are in this year and I'll have a pretty low seed I could see them the other team that I would say that could make a run they've got some of the pieces to make the run if they put it together would be the magic would be Orlando that that that's probably the most comparable team especially if there's some injuries and kind of what the Pacers faced as they you know made their run I could see I think that's probably the best apples to apples comparison would be uh the Orlando magic so I love that we're talking about injuries yet the Halbert Achilles thing happened I just I just listen y'all always try to you're always gonna try to water down the Pacers take last year again you're always gonna try listen man injuries happen in every championship run and literally uh what if that we now have is if Tyrese doesn't get hurt though do they still win that game I know you don't think that me eh I think he they would have they had a cute first half cute first half that was nice but nah the defensive screws are about to be tightened SGA about to do his thing uh which is a whole nother segment man we'll set it for another show but we gotta dive into SGA man because with everyone else coming on the scene if we look at the numbers of what he's doing is getting a little overshadowed with the points and the field goal percentage and all of that I think we're gonna look back we're gonna look back at this time and go dang he did what you know so again whole nother segment for another time let's start so NFL free agency frenzy Bree why don't you kick us off with some of your favorite movies okay my well I'm gonna start with my least favorite I know that's not what that says but I made a video about it we all know what I'm talking about.
